Crane collapsed in Texas

Oil Refinery Crane Collapses

One of the nation's largest mobile cranes collapsed in Housten Texas on Friday which fell at a Lyondell Basell oil refinery in southeast Houston.  It killed 4 workers and injured 7 others.  This crane was capable of lifting 1 million pounds and was over 30 stories tall and collapsed during maintenance.

Two extremely injured workers were still being treated Saturday at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center hospital.  The other injured workers were released after treatment.

This is not the first time that a crane has collapsed.  In 2005 and 2006, 26 cranes fell and killed and injured many workers.

They are investigating exactly what happened on July 18th and hope that this doesn't happen again.

Grant Pasek has already filed a lawsuit.  He jumped from a bucket that was elevated because he saw that the crane was about to fall.  Luckily he jumped out when he did because he could have died.

My prayers go out to all of those families who have now lost their loved ones.
